Trese was first and mainly published in English as ashcans and as graphic novels under Visprint. With its growing popularity, A Little Known Murder in Studio 4 was translated into Filipino, in collaboration with DepEd in 2013.[1] Eventually, At the Intersection of Balete and 13th Street, Rules of the Race, and The Tragic Case of Dr. Burgos were officially published into Filipino by Bob Ong starting 2015. This was supposedly to cater to more Filipinos. Surprisingly, Budjette Tan admitted that he had difficulty translating Trese into Filipino.
Upon the release of the Netflix's Trese anime series, it was subbed and dubbed in multiple languages, overcoming the language barrier. The demand of Trese in different dialects was also a topic in the Trese fandom during the release of the tv series, which was recognized by Budjette and Nida Ramirez. Even before its release, the Trese name reached international shores after their Indiegogo campaign for the remastered At the Intersection of Balete and 13th Street comic, which was endorsed by Neil Gaiman.[2] This continued on with Ablaze, the third publisher of the comics, with Visprint being the first and Avenida the second. In September 7, 2021, it was revealed that the Trese comics will be printed in a third language, Italian. It was published by Italian comics publisher, Star Comics.[3]
